Attachments

Files attached in the web app show in the markup detail. Kroons downloads them with your login.

Who can do this

Everyone.

Steps

1. Select a markup and find the file in its timeline.

2. Click the file name (tooltip: Download and open). Kroons shows Downloading <name>… while it downloads.

What you see

The file is saved in %LocalAppData%\Kroons\downloads and kept for 7 days. Files up to 50 MB can be downloaded.

Kroons opens these kinds of file for you:

• pictures: .png .jpg .jpeg .jpe .gif .bmp .dib .tif .tiff .webp .heic .heif .avif .ico .tga .emf .wmf .ai
• office documents without macros: .docx .dotx .xlsx .xltx .pptx .potx .ppsx .vsdx .odt .ods .odp .odg
• .pdf
• Autodesk files: .nwd .nwc .nwf .nwp .nwb .nwt .dwg .dxf .dxb .dwf .dwfx .dws .dwt .ipt .iam .idw .ipn .rvt .rfa .rte .rft .rvf .f3d .f3z .f2d .rcp .rcs .fbx
• .ifc

Any other file, for example .zip, office files with macros such as .docm, .xlsm and .pptm, the old .doc, .xls and .ppt, .svg, .eps, scripts and installers, is saved and shown in Explorer. Kroons marks downloaded files as coming from the internet, so Windows and Office treat them with their usual caution.

If something goes wrong

• <name> is not a kind of file Kroons opens for you (pictures, office documents, PDF and Autodesk files are). It was saved and is shown in Explorer.
• No program is set up to open <name>, so it was saved and is shown in Explorer. Install a program for that kind of file.
• This file cannot be downloaded from here. Open the markup on the web.
