Raise a new markup

Verified for plugin version 0.2.0 · Navisworks 2024-2027

Raise a markup at a point in the model. The web app resolves it afterwards.

Who can do this

Section titled “Who can do this”

An account that may create markups: usually a writer or a project admin. Otherwise New markup is unavailable and the pane says why, see Access notices.

Steps

  1. If you want to link model items, select them first, up to 1000. See Link model items.

  2. On the Kroons tab click New markup.

  3. Click the point the markup is about. Press Esc or right-click to cancel.

  4. The New markup dialog shows the number the markup will get. Enter a Title and a Comment; both are needed.

  5. Leave the linked items and the screenshot ticked, or untick them. See Screenshots.

  6. Click Create.

What you see

Section titled “What you see”

The markup appears in the list and as a pin. If another person took the number in the meantime, Kroons says Created as <id> (number was taken).

If something goes wrong

  • Title is required. or Comment is required.: fill in the field.
  • Open a model first.: open a model in Navisworks before you raise a markup.
  • If sending fails, the dialog stays open with your text and the button becomes Retry. Retrying never creates a second copy.
