Install the plugin

Run the installer, check the list of Navisworks versions it found, and start Navisworks. The plugin is free.

Who can do this

Anyone who can run a program on their own Windows computer. Installing for all users of the computer needs an administrator.

Steps

1. Download Kroons-<version>-setup.exe from kroons.co. Windows shows the publisher as Maintenance Data Services OÜ. If it shows another name, do not run the file.

2. Close Navisworks.

3. Start the installer. If you are an administrator, Windows asks whether to install for all users of this computer or only for you. Without administrator rights the installer installs for you only.

4. On the Navisworks page, read what the installer found. It opens with Navisworks versions found on this computer: and lists each version with its year and a note: supported by this installer or NOT included in this installer. Kroons loads in the versions marked supported. If it found none, the page says No supported Navisworks installation was found on this computer. Kroons is still installed, and Navisworks loads it when Navisworks is installed or started later.

5. Continue through the installer until it finishes.

6. Start Navisworks. The Kroons tab appears in the ribbon.

If Navisworks is open

The installer cannot replace the plugin while Navisworks runs. It says Navisworks is running. Close it, then choose Retry to continue. Close Navisworks, then choose Retry. Choose Cancel to stop the installation.

Where the plugin is installed

Install	Folder

for all users	%ProgramData%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\kroons.Kroons.bundle

Navisworks looks in these ApplicationPlugins folders wherever Navisworks is installed. The installer never touches the Navisworks program folder.

What else the installer does

• It replaces an earlier Kroons install in place.
• It removes the bundle of the earlier version of the product, which was called HD Markup, so that Navisworks does not load two copies.
• It gives .hdmark files an icon and the name “Kroons markup file”. It adds no open command: double-clicking a .hdmark file still asks Windows how to open it, and another program’s association is never taken over. Use Open markup in Navisworks instead.
