Your first markup in 5 minutes

Verified for plugin version 0.2.0 · Navisworks 2024-2027

Open a review, log in, read a markup and raise your own. You need the plugin installed, your model, a .hdmark file and an account.

Everyone can open and read. Raising a markup (the last step) needs an account that may create markups, usually a writer or a project admin.

  1. Start Navisworks and open your model.

  2. Click the Kroons tab. In the Markups panel click Open markup.

  3. In the file picker (Open Kroons markup file), choose the .hdmark file of your review. See Open a .hdmark file.

  4. Log in. Enter your Email and Password. Tick Remember on this machine only on a computer that is yours: Kroons then saves the login encrypted with DPAPI, for your Windows user on that computer. Click Log in. See Log in and stay logged in.

  5. The Kroons pane opens with the list of markups, and the markups appear as pins in the 3D view.

  6. Click a row in the list. Navisworks moves to the saved view of that markup. After you orbit away, click Go to view to return. See Go to a markup’s view.

  7. To raise a markup, select the model items it is about, click New markup, click the point in the model, type a Title and a Comment, and click Create. See Create a markup.

A new pin at the point you clicked, and a new row in the list with the next free id. If New markup is disabled, your account may not create markups on this review; see Access notices.
